The Vaporfly has a much thicker sole (stack > 30 mm) for marathons. The Streakfly 2 is lower, lighter, and designed for shorter and faster efforts (up to 10k) where agility is more important than long-term cushioning.
This is not recommended. The cushioning is considered too "firm" and minimalist to protect joints over distances exceeding 15-20 km. For longer distances, the Vaporfly or Alphafly are preferred.
Like any ultra-light racing shoe (exposed ZoomX foam, thin mesh), durability is limited. It is optimized for peak performance on race day and during key sessions, not for daily runs.
The main changes are the addition of the full carbon plate, lighter weight, and a drop that goes from 6 mm to 4 mm for a more natural and aggressive stride.
