Thanks to the new ReactX foam and two Air Zoom units, the Pegasus 41 offers protective but primarily very dynamic cushioning, prioritizing energy return over extreme softness.
This is the quintessential neutral shoe. Its platform has been slightly widened at the heel and forefoot to provide a more secure and stable base than previous versions.
The Pegasus 41 enters a new era. It maintains its legendary reliability but replaces classic React foam with ReactX foam, providing 13% more energy return for less effort in every stride.
This is the first Pegasus to integrate full-length ReactX foam. Lighter and softer than React, it primarily offers a superior energy return of 13%.
As a bonus, the manufacturing process of this foam reduces the carbon footprint of the midsole by approximately 43%.
The Pegasus signature is still here: two Air Zoom units (one in the heel, one in the forefoot) encapsulated in the foam.
They provide that characteristic "pop" and bounce at the moment of push-off, making the shoe much livelier than a simple foam-only shoe.
The Engineered Mesh upper has been lightened and made more breathable to prevent overheating.
The Dynamic Midfoot Fit system (an internal band at the midfoot) ensures the foot stays perfectly locked in, without pressure points, regardless of how you lace up.
The Nike Pegasus 41 maintains the brand's standard fit (MR-10 last). It fits true to size and provides a secure lockdown at the heel and midfoot.
Our advice: Take your usual running shoe size (often 1 size up from your usual street shoe size).
Wide feet? The forefoot is comfortable, but the fit is precise. If you have a truly wide foot, consider the "Extra Wide" version (available in certain colorways) for more room.
The major evolution is the replacement of React foam with ReactX foam. This gives the Pegasus 41 better energy return (+13%) and a slightly softer feel underfoot, while being more environmentally friendly.
Yes, it is absolutely possible. For a first marathon or for runners seeking reliability, it will do the job. However, for pure performance, a Vaporfly will be more suitable, and for maximum comfort, a Vomero would be preferable.
The Vomero is the "Premium Comfort" version with more cushioning (ZoomX) and softness, intended for long, slow runs. The Pegasus 41 is lighter, firmer, and more responsive, designed to be more versatile for daily use.
The standard breathable mesh model is not. However, Nike usually offers a specific Pegasus 41 GORE-TEX (GTX) version for running in the rain with dry feet.
The Pegasus is known for being a "workhorse." Thanks to its robust waffle rubber outsole and durable ReactX foam, you can expect to reach 600 to 800 km without any issues.
Absolutely. It is often the first pair recommended. It is stable, not too technical, durable, and offers an excellent mix of cushioning and dynamism to discover running under great conditions.
It is not recommended to put them in the washing machine (this damages the foam and glues). Prioritize hand cleaning with a soft brush, warm water, and a bit of soap, then let them air dry away from a radiator.
