The latest Castelli jacket provides warmth, breathability, softness and a high level of protection against rain, all in a comfortable fit.Now in its third generation, this new jacket is the new benchmark in terms of winter jackets.

DESCRIPTION:

This jacket is exactly what Castelli has in mind for the perfect winter jacket. After making a list of everything they didn't like about current jackets, they set themselves the challenge of creating the best model by taking care to eliminate everything they didn't like about others.
The first problem to solve was moisture management. Even the best fabric currently available offers a good level of breathability but cannot drain all the sweat generated during a high intensity ride. Castelli has therefore invented a double layer construction that allows you to open the windproof outer layer while keeping the insulating layer closed to let air circulate on the inside to wick away moisture and avoid direct contact with the skin. For example, when wearing a long collar, you simply open the outer layer completely to allow moisture to escape, and when you come down, you zip it up to stay dry inside. It's almost like magic, it works so well! The new winter feature is a softer, warmer 3D insulated fabric that offers a higher level of warmth, better moisture management and a more comfortable fit.
Castelli then focused on the openings: at the neck, waist and most importantly, the cuffs. The stand-up collar is designed to move with you, whether you're standing or aerodynamically attacking your friends like the hero of January. The stretchy waist layer with a flat silicone band keeps the wind out completely, doesn't bunch up and doesn't ride up. Also new this year is the all-new double-layer wrist opening with an inner layer to go under your glove that seals your wrist, and an outer layer that goes over your glove to keep the rain out.
This groundbreaking jacket is also perfectly resistant to wet conditions thanks to its GORE-TEX INFINIUM ™ WINDSTOPPER® fabric and waterproof seam bands on exposed shoulder areas. The other seams don't come in direct contact with the flow of water, and the water repellent treatment on the fabric is enough to keep almost all moisture out. They call it "just the right amount of waterproofing," as the goal was to strike a balance between waterproofing, breathability, and comfort. they don't guarantee that no drops will ever enter the garment, but when they go on long rides in a good rain, they stay completely dry.
All of these features make this jacket a favorite of Team Ineos runners and the most versatile cold-weather performance jacket they've ever created.

TECHNOLOGY

  • Gore-Tex: Gore-Tex® garments offer total wind protection and maximum breathability. The windproof membrane keeps you cool from wind chill, but the optimal breathability prevents overheating and moisture buildup by allowing perspiration to easily escape. Water repellency is provided by DWR treatment applied to the outer fabric.
