The AbsoluteBlack Premium Oval Narrow Wide Chainring 96/4 BCD for Shimano XT M8000, SLX M7000, M5100 & MT700 1x or 2x cranks only. These chainrings are suitable for both Boost and non-Boost bikes as the correct offset is achieved by the crank plate itself, not the chainring. Screws included. This is the most premium oval chainring on the market with scientifically proven performance gains.
Oval chainrings don't produce more force, they increase pedaling efficiency through better transmission of forces. This means that you won't necessarily go further by pedaling harder. But the less force you lose, the more energy you keep, allowing you to pedal harder when you need to and thus reducing your general fatigue. - Material : Aluminum 7075 Txxx CNC machined. Long-lasting construction ! Type II anodizing.
- Chainline : Depends on the crank model (1 or B1/B2). Each crank model has a different shaft length, but the same chainrings.
- Mounting holes : 4 x 96 mm BCD Asymmetric design. Use the original screws.
- Ovality : Optimized for each size separately. Range: 10.2-14.4% and timing from 110.5-116.3° after TDC (top dead center) Patent pending.
- All 4 sizes have built-in stops to provide an ideal 1X chain line.
- Use the screws deliver with to mount the chainring.

- There is a small (triangle shaped) mark on the inner circumference of the chainring, this mark should be behind the crank arm. The assembly procedure is identical for Deore, SLX and XT cranks. Use the 1X Shimano M8 chainring bolts supplied with the crank and tighten them to approximately 7 Nm. If you are upgrading from a 2X to a 1X chainring and want to fit a 30T absoluteBLACK chainring, you must buy 1X Shimano bolts for this crank, as the 2X bolts are too short. Other chainring sizes can use Shimano 2X bolts.
