What's the I-Spec technology for:
By creating the I-Spec clamps, Shinano not only eliminated the clamp, but also brought a gain in ergonomy with controls closer to the fingers and easier to handle. There are several versions of the I-spec technology: A, B, II and EV
The latest evolution of the Shimano standard, I-spec EV provides greater flexibility in lever positioning to stay focused on riding.
The I-Spec EV components are only compatible between themselves.
This standard brings additional stiffness to the set by adding a point of contact between the end of the lever and the handlebar
The new Shimano seatpost control is I-Spec EV compatible which allows for a more ergonomic positioning similar to that of the shifters

The standard I-Spec II has a half shell that fits inside the brake collar (which is therefore clamped to the handlebars by the brake collar) on which the speed control is attached.
The I-Spec II components are only compatible between themselves.
How to differentiate:
I-Spec A : First generation, it is characterized by a threaded attachment with a small hook.
I-Spec B : It is a shorter threaded fastener without a hook unlike the first version.
An I-Spec A compatible brake can be used with an I-Spec A and B shifter, but an I-Spec B brake can only be compatible with an I-Spec B shifter.
The Shimano XTR Di2 M9250 Rapid ES shifter feels instantly natural out of the box, but can also be molded to fit any hand, thanks to its familiar fit and evolved adjustability design. Multiple shift modes, like hold-down multi-shift, tactile click-through double shift, or locked-out single shift, deliver top precision, while a tunable third button allows for additional system tuning or third-party connection.
