How to change your cables and sheath ?
A new cable, a derailleur adjustment and the smooth and precise operation of the controls is guaranteed! Here is how to change your Road or MTB cables and sheath.
Tools needed : 5" BTR spanner / Phillips screwdriver / Cutting pliers / Cable cutters / Torque Wrench / Bike Stand
Step 1
Remove the shifter cover.
Step 2
Remove the cable end and detach it from the derailleur.
Step 3
Remove the entire cable from the shifter.
Steps 4/5/6
Remove the ducts from the frame. Cut the new ducts to the same length as the old ones.
Step 7
Thread the new cable into the shifter.
Steps 8/9
Place the sleeves, with end caps, on the frame.
Step 10
Thread the cable into the sheaths.
Step 11
Pull the cable by hand and attach it to the derailleur. Adjust your gears if necessary.
Step 12
Cut the cable and crimp a ferrule onto it.
Step 13
Replace the "cover" screw on the gearshift.
