Description
Ultimate is not just a name: this designation means the highest level of performance. It's finally compatible with tires, tubeless and bikes with disc brakes.
Weighing in at just 1255g, this wheelset offers the perfect balance of lightness, stiffness and aerodynamics.
The full carbon rim profile, 45mm high and 27mm wide, is inspired by NACA profiles. Its complex layered design optimizes the stiffness to weight ratio. The outer layer benefits from our special UD² finish.
The rim is not drilled: the rim tape is not necessary to ensure the watertightness, which guarantees a perfect ease of use of the tubeless.
The 20 elliptical carbon fiber spokes, and the high and thin flanges confer established aerodynamic advantages.
The spokes are made of unidirectional carbon fiber, they do not stretch. They go from one rim edge to the other through the hub (R2R technology), forming a single spoke instead of two: the wheel is thus more rigid and no longer requires mechanical fixation of the spokes to the hub.
Inside the hub shells, the axles are associated with automatically adjusted sealed cartridge bearings for optimal preload. At the rear, the ID360 freewheel system provides instant engagement (40 engagement points, or 9°) and reduces friction. The hubs are compatible with thru axles (12 x 100 front, 12 x 142 rear) and designed to be equipped with Center Lock brake discs.
These wheels are designed, manufactured and patented by Mavic in Annecy, France, and are entirely handmade in France.
They come with a lifetime warranty and a substantial accident replacement policy (subject to registration on Mavic.com/en-fr/care).

Technologies
- Fore Carbon tubeless technology without rim tape: stiffer and stronger. Instead of drilling the rim to anchor the spokes and install the nipples, a threaded metal insert is integrated to the lower rim bridge draping: the spokes can be screwed in directly. The upper rim bridge remains intact. No need for a rim base to ensure its watertightness!
- UST Tubeless technology: traction and control Universal Standard for Tubeless. Ready to roll tubeless system. The UST system improves traction, control and comfort while reducing inertia and the risk of punctures.
- Instant Drive 360 Freewheel System: The new Instant Drive 360 Freewheel System is ultra lightweight and efficient. An oversized, non-contact rubber seal reduces friction to a minimum, and a wide range of adapters make it compatible with all types of frames and axles.
- QRM Auto Bearing Technology: Mavic Auto Bearing Quality Our latest innovation. These cartridge bearings are of course double sealed, with C3 internal clearance. Their preload automatically adjusts to ensure a perfect rotation without any play in the long run.
