R5 has only one objective: to get to the top quickly. But for all the fanfare of a hill climb, it's rarely the only climb of the day. And while you don't usually win a race downhill, you can certainly lose it. A mountain bike that can't negotiate a hairpin bend is a bit like a cup of decaffeinated coffee. This is the fourth version of the R5, and while its weight and stiffness have varied over the years, its handling, control and unparalleled downhill prowess have remained unchanged since day one.

The R5 is stiff, but not too stiff. Ideal for a climber, if you will. Balance, stability and power transfer are perfect, keeping you fresh and ready to take on the road.

Red and Force mounts include Quarq Zero power sensors in the crankset. Integrating the power sensor enables greater rigidity, saves weight and improves accuracy compared to other aftermarket offerings - and the DZero provides accurate power measurement to +/- 1.5%, even in varying temperatures.
