Children's Semi-Rigid Electric Mountain BikeLike the Trick, the Play has inherited the aesthetics and performance of our adult models, while opening the doors to a world of emotions and opportunities that can only be found on an ebike. We take mountain biking very seriously, and any electric bike worthy of the name, whether for kids or adults, needs power and autonomy, and perhaps most of all, it needs to inspire confidence. That's what we kept in mind when designing the Play.
The new Play range is offered with 20", 24" or 26" wheels, and is the next step in our electric bike range after the 12" and 16" versions of the Grommy. The Play 20" is perfect for children aged 6 to 8 (120cm-135cm), the Play 24" for children aged 8 to 11 (135cm-155cm) and the Play 26" for children aged 10 to 14 (145cm-165cm).
All the new Plays feature an all-new frame, and as with the Trick and F-Trick, they have inherited the aesthetics and design of our new NEat and F-Podium ranges.
The new frame design, which incorporates straight lines, minimalist tube profiles and the characteristic Mondraker headtube-toptube interface, allows the battery to sit very low in the downtube, lowering the center of gravity and increasing stability and agility. This has enabled us to modify our Forward Geometry, improving the rider's position and offering him better control when confronted with difficult terrain, and increasing his self-confidence. All three models use frames built with our Alloy Stealth Evo.
At Mondraker, we're firm believers in the Mahle X35 motor and battery system. It features a 250Wh removable internal battery, 40 Nm of torque and a maximum assisted speed of 25 km/h. The three assistance modes can be set via Mahle's MySmartbike app. The same system equips the entire Play range, but the Play 26" can also benefit from the additional 210Wh battery for longer trips, when your child starts to become more adventurous.
The new Play range features new frames, new geometry and new specifications that give the bikes a well-defined identity. All three models are fitted with 2.4-inch tires (the same as those on the adult range) to improve grip, comfort and confidence, and to allow you to use lower tire pressures with all the benefits that this brings. The redesigned Forward geometry allows the use of 30 mm stems for dynamic, stable handling. The frames feature an internal HHG cable guide and are ready to be fitted with telescopic seatposts if you feel the need
