- More than 20% lighter than RD-FT30 (DATT: 70 g, ROAD crankset: 90 g, BMX crankset: 80 g) (mainly due to the cable guide pulley)
- Low enough profile and sufficient clearance to the ground to prevent the rear derailleur from touching obstacles
- Redesigned appearance (RD-FT55)
- Interchangeable with the SHIMANO 7/6 speed MTB system
- For front use only
