Description

What size do you need?

Choosing the right sized bike depends on the type of bike, your height, your riding style, and your preference. A correct fitting bike will be more comfortable, more efficient and more fun to ride

Measure yourself accurately

To get started, measure your height and use the size chart available on each product description.

What to do if you are in between bike sizes?

If you are on the edge of two different bike sizes, don't worry, you'll probably be ok on either size (rather than thinking that one size will be awful and the other will fit). Indeed, bikes are adjustable: the seatpost can slide up and down, the saddle can move backwards and forwards and you can even switch out parts like the stem for different sized ones to help the bike fit better.

Finding out whether or not you should pick a bigger or a smaller frame is sometimes as simple as personal preference, but there are a few simple ways to work out which might suit best:
  • If you’re flexible, you might prefer a shorter head tube, so the smaller size might work out better for you. You can use a longer stem to make the reach more comfortable.
  • On a bigger bike, the reach to the handlebars will be longer. This means that if you have proportionally longer arms, you might be more comfortable on a bigger frame.

Modern trail bikes are used for an impressive variety of rides. Some riders use them to climb thousands of meters on huge rides, others weave in and out of bike parks and jumps during their daily adventures. The Orbea Occam LT is the wilder side of Occam thanks to more aggressive geometry, Fox 36 forks, and 10 mm more travel. Occam LT is hugely capable but also more versatile than a full-on enduro bike with efficient pedaling for all-day rides. The sturdy Fox 36 fork slackens the Occam LT’s head angle by 0.5º, giving it an even more self assured stance.

Instead of using a less-efficient "shock tunnel," the Occam offsets the shock to the left side of the frame, allowing the right-side support to be more central and more efficiently deal with the suspension forces acting on the front triangle. This solution enables us to tune the stiffness of this high-stress area without adding unnecessary weight.

We use aluminum manufacturing and material technologies that are every bit as advanced as our carbon processest. High-quality aluminum tubing undergoes processes to align the grain structure before undergoing an advanced hydroforming process giving precision control of the shape and wall thicknesses. These processes increase strength and allow us to fine-tune the rigidity while optimizing frame weights. Many tubes are double or triple-butted, saving weight in the areas away from the stress of the joints and the weld zones. Using aluminum technologies as advanced as our carbon manufacturing ensures our aluminum bikes are never second-best.

The biggest news for alloy is the addition of the new high-polished welds on our hydroformed frames. Each weld on the main frame is polished smooth, matching the aesthetics of a monocoque frame but also importantly the action of polishing the welds increases fatigue resistance at these high stress points. High Polish requires hours of hand work and bead blasting so only our most exclusive frames are manufactured this way.

Main features:

  • The wilder side of the Orbea Occam.
  • Next generation aluminium frame with high-polished welds.
  • 150 mm front and rear travel.
