DT Swiss's mission is to offer electric ATV users wheels adapted to the constraints generated by their riding. This is how the DT Swiss HYBRID range came into being.The wheels of an electrically-assisted mountain bike must be able to withstand much greater shock and torsion than those of a conventional mountain bike. What could be more normal, given that you ride faster everywhere!
The testing of HYBRID components revealed two things:
This has enabled us to optimize the rim profile, giving priority to lightness in critical areas and reinforcing strategic areas. As a result, HYBRID wheels remain lightweight, while still being able to support a total weight of 150 kg.
The hubs have also undergone a real optimization, necessary for E-Bike use. The entire system has been improved. They benefit from an oversized body, ultra-resistant axles and special spokes. A 24-tooth hardened steel Ratchet System freewheel, oversized bearings and steel rotos give the hub extraordinary strength, capable of withstanding enormous torques while ensuring rapid engagement
- The spoke contact area on the rim and hub needs to be more reinforced.
- Some areas can remain as light as standard rims, while others need to be reinforced.
