Description
The Reserve 28|XC wheelset is the culmination of everything we've learned over the years at the highest level of competition.
Weighing in at 1,387 g for a wheelset complete with DT Swiss 180 hub, rim tape and valves (AND with no rider weight limit + lifetime warranty), the 28|XC features a wider, lower rim profile than our previous XC wheels, increasing lateral strength and stiffness while adding vertical flexibility.
The new rim shape also facilitates tubeless tire installation and improves tire bead retention at low pressures.
The Reserve 28|XC is tough and solid enough for a hectic XC outing, but light and fast enough for a short ride on an XC World Cup circuit.
Product highlights
- Reserve uses externally reinforced spoke holes to reinforce the area where the rim takes the most force, around the spoke nut. This improves strength without adding unnecessary weight.
- The redesigned rim profile of the 28|XC wheelset facilitates the installation of tubeless tires, with a streamlined rim shape that uses staggered spoke holes, facilitating the insertion of beads to accommodate tubeless tires.
- Asymmetrical rims, like those on the 28|XC wheelset, make for stiffer, stronger and more reliable wheels by improving spoke-head angles and equalizing tensions between spokes on the hub side and those on the opposite side.
