The Crossmax SL is the best of all our aluminum-alloy cross-country wheels. For cross-country enthusiasts, this lightweight, efficient 29" wheel offers the world's simplest tubeless system at an affordable price.
Crossmax: this name has a long history in the cross-country world, and the new Crossmax SL continues this heritage. Mavic technologies are tried and tested, and this wheel brings many of them within reach of every budget. Weighing in at just 1700 g, it's truly versatile. It's the best aluminum-alloy cross-country wheel in its class.
The rims are manufactured using our Fore technology, featuring a completely sealed top bridge that eliminates the need for a rim tape. Each wheel weighs 30 grams less, saving the rider the need to install a rim tape before fitting a tubeless tire. The rim has an internal width of 25 mm, with a tough hook-free profile, and our Black Shield technology gives it a unique, modern visual identity while protecting it from scratches and abrasion.
We use 24 straight spokes (same spoke length throughout) to ensure a strong link between rim and hub, and a balance between efficiency and durability. Special hub machining secures the spoke head, while allowing it to retain some play, enabling the wheel to absorb shocks from obstacles along the way. Our Instant Drive 360 freewheel body, combined with our QRM Auto bearing, guarantees fast engagement and enhanced durability. The Crossmax SL 29 is available in 29" only, with 6-hole or Center Lock brake discs, and compatible with a 15 x 110 front axle and a 12 x 148 rear axle. It comes complete with valves, spare spokes and accessories.
