In January 2025, ultrarunner and race organizer Jamil Coury set himself a challenge: to win a year’s supply of free burritos. The challenge: to run as many kilometers as possible in front of a restaurant in Arizona. What followed was an absurd commitment to athletic performance and competition, leading him to run over 1,170 kilometers. And which shoe did he choose for more than 960 of those kilometers? A single pair of the new Mount to Coast H1.

High performance and ultra-durability. | Created using an advanced supercritical foaming process, each pair of CircleCELL™ midsoles is made from nearly 9 kilograms of organic waste and residual biomass. Despite its eco-friendly qualities, CircleCELL™ offers energy return equivalent to PEBA, with a lifespan on the trail nearly twice that of PEBA.

All-Terrain Grip | Mount to Coast VersaGrip™ is designed to deliver exceptional grip, confidence, and durability on all terrains, so you can head out to the trails right from your doorstep without ever losing your footing. Worried that a road shoe might be out of its element on the trails? VersaGrip™ has you covered. It’s optimal performance for real-world situations.

Stay focused, never give up. | The TUNEDFIT™ dual-lacing system offers a customizable fit for the forefoot and midfoot separately. Because Mount To Coast knows that in an ultrarunner’s quest for distance, feet can swell and change shape, and having a shoe capable of adapting to these changes along the way can make the difference between mild discomfort and injury.

An Upper for All Environments | The H1 features a dual-zone upper. The upper portion is crafted from jacquard fabric for an adaptive fit and optimal comfort, while the lower portion is engineered for exceptional durability with high-performance woven fabric reinforced with aramid fibers five times stronger than steel.
