The new
Wolf Tooth LoneWolf Aero Braze-on Low Chain Guide prevents chain falls on road, gravel and CX bikes equipped with a 1x drivetrain. This chain guide has been tested and developed with the Jumbo-Visma team, has been used in major road cycling races and has won the 2023 Giro d'Italia and the 2023 Tour de France. The LoneWolf Aero Chainguide also won in truly epic conditions at the Unbound Gravel 2023 and 2024 races.
We regard this little chain guide as 30g of insurance for races where a chain drop can cost you a place on the podium. The LoneWolf Aero chain guide is similar to our existing GnarWolf, and combines a low-profile head that covers only the top and inner side of the chain with our GuideLock quick-adjust system. This eliminates the need for shims and gives you the security of a lightweight, easy-to-use, aerodynamically optimized chain guide solution.
Details :
- Eliminate Chain Falls: The LoneWolf Aero chain guide is a lightweight, stylish and reliable option for avoiding chain falls during road, gravel and CX racing. Think of it as 30g of insurance, when a chain fall could cost you a place on the podium.
- Confidence in cycling's biggest races: Team Jumbo-Visma relies on the LoneWolf Aero chainguide on team bikes. It helped avoid chain falls on the famous Paris-Roubaix cobbles, won the Giro d'Italia and will be present at the Tour de France. It was also on the winning bike of the Unbound Gravel 2023 in truly epic, muddy conditions.
- Designed for 1x: The LoneWolf Aero chainguide is compatible only with bikes equipped with 1x drivetrains. This is because it uses the clamp in place of the front derailleur. It can be combined with round and oval chainrings on road, CX and gravel bikes.
- Adjustable coverage: The head of the LoneWolf Aero Chainguide must be within 2 mm of the chain to prevent chain falls. The three basic sweep options cover large differences in deck diameter from 38 to 62T. Low sweep is suitable for chainrings around 38-52T, medium sweep for chainrings 52-58T and high sweep for chainrings 54-62T. Our unique GuideLock quick-set system offers 8 mm positioning for the chain line.
Compatibility:
- Compatible with bikes fitted with braze-on front derailleur hanger
- For use with 1x drivetrains only
- Works with round or oval chainrings
- Three basic sweep options for chainring sizes ranging from around 38T to 62T depending on frame; low sweep for smaller chainrings in this range will be most popular
- The head has 8 mm of adjustment for the chain line via our GuideLock quick-adjust system
Note: the braze-on bracket is not at the same height on all bikes, so the maximum chainring size varies somewhat according to frame make and model.
