Buying guide

Giro design and high-performance innovation for road cyclists, gravel enthusiasts, and adventurers.

The secret to the Helios’s exceptional performance lies in its Spherical technology, a revolutionary ball-and-socket system equipped with MIPS®, the gold standard in brain protection against rotational forces. Thanks to Spherical technology, the helmet’s outer shell can pivot around the inner shell during an impact, while the “Progressive Layering” technology of both shells offers unmatched protection and performance. In addition to advanced head protection, the Helios features 15 vents for optimal cooling. The patented Roc Loc 5 Air system and soft, antimicrobial XT2 padding ensure unmatched comfort and excellent sweat absorption. It’s the ideal choice for your road and gravel adventures.

Details:

SPHERICAL TECHNOLOGY — Spherical technology consists of a ball-and-socket design, optimized by MIPS®, that helps redirect impact energy away from the brain by allowing the outer shell to rotate around the inner shell in the event of a collision. It also eliminates contact with hard plastic or sliding surfaces against the skin.
PROGRESSIVE LAYERING™ — Giro helmets featuring "Progressive Layering™" technology use two EPS foam liners of different densities to withstand high- and low-speed impacts, better dissipating the energy.
MIPS® SYSTEM FOR BRAIN PROTECTION — All Giro helmets are designed to absorb maximum energy while exceeding the strictest safety standards. The goal of Giro helmets equipped with MIPS is to reduce rotational forces. Giro believes that helmets equipped with this technology can reduce the rotational force that may be transferred to the rider’s brain during certain impacts.
INTERNAL CHANNELS FEATURING "WIND TUNNEL" TECHNOLOGY — Combined with large vents, the internal channels force air to circulate over the scalp, providing remarkable cooling power.
ROC LOC® 5 AIR FIT SYSTEM — This revolutionary fit system adds a new dimension to helmet performance by improving cooling, as well as comfort and stability. Thanks to a patented design that suspends the helmet slightly above the skull, the Roc Loc® 5 Air allows cool airflow to pass directly over your head, enhancing the performance of the vents and internal channels that draw heat away from the helmet. The fit and feel adjustments replicate the functionality of the Roc Loc 5, allowing you to easily customize the fit tension and fore-aft tilt of the helmet in seconds with just one hand.
IONIC+® PADDING - Pure silver is the secret ingredient that gives IONIC+® the power to provide natural, long-lasting odor protection so your helmet stays fresh.
