The Ergolace 2 is a lightweight, durable, quick-drying, and extremely comfortable shoe for flat-pedal riders who dream of venturing beyond the pavement. The Ergolace 2 Flat captures the spirit of its predecessor with a wider fit, reduced bulk, and a revised X2 outsole that offers even more confidence on loose or uneven terrain as well as better grip on flat pedals.

KEY FEATURES:

Ergolace 2 Flat invites you to ride farther, more often, and take your bike to the places you’ve always dreamed of. An improved new version of a model beloved by trail riders, bikepackers, and gravel enthusiasts. The Ergolace 2 Flat features a redesigned shape, wider in the metatarsal area, offering more freedom for your toes and a roomier fit for greater comfort during long days on the bike or long stretches of walking. The ideal choice for all off-road adventures, from daily explorations to more ambitious bikepacking trips or backcountry e-MTB expeditions. Ergolace is back, better than ever.
The upper uses a lightweight, breathable ripstop fabric that eliminates all unnecessary material and bulk, allowing the shoes to dry quickly and offering a feeling of increased lightness. Large PU-laminated areas increase protection and durability, while the toe box is reinforced to protect the feet from rocks and roots. The practical, foot-hugging sock-like construction, made from perforated Airprene fabric, offers greater comfort than a traditional tongue by reducing material overlays, ensuring a fit without pressure points. Additionally, the perforated Airprene fabric allows moisture vapor to escape for better breathability and shoes that dry faster after wet rides.
The closure system is ergonomic and asymmetrical so as not to interfere with the bike’s drivetrain. Already proven worldwide on the first Ergolace, the new lacing system keeps feet perfectly stable even in the most extreme conditions. The Speedlace system locks and unlocks easily, even while riding, for a quick and convenient fit.
The redesigned X2 Flat outsole offers the ideal interface between the shoe and the pedal for fast trail rides and gravel adventures. It combines the most grippy Vibram XS Ride rubber compound with a specific zonal lug pattern. The midfoot area features lower, more evenly spaced lugs to improve mechanical grip with the pedals; the pedal pins fit more securely into the grooves of the outsole, keeping the shoe firmly in place even on the roughest terrain. To improve traction on the ground during walking sections, we drew inspiration from other outdoor disciplines to develop a more aggressive tread pattern under the heel and toes—areas where the sole does not interact with the pedal. Here, the lugs are taller and the pattern wider to better grip the terrain.
