Why should I use a luggage rack?
Installing a luggage rack on the front or back of your bike can be very useful for several things. Firstly, you could add bags to your rack. This is ideal for going to work, for example, to carry your computer... without the need for an extra backpack. You could also add a basket to your rack to carry larger items such as a bag. Finally, a carrier can be used to carry a child by attaching a baby seat.
Front or rear luggage rack?
A bike rack can be installed on the front or rear of your bike. Depending on the purpose of your bike, it may be more or less appropriate to choose one or the other. If you want to carry a child, you will have to choose the rear model, on the contrary if you want to carry a basket, a front rack could be more relevant. Finally, you should pay attention to the compatibility of the carrier with your bike. For a mountain bike or a gravel bike the rear model seems more suitable.
What type of luggage rack for gravel, mountain bike... ?
If you have a gravel or mountain bike it is possible to install a rack. However, you will need to check the compatibility of your bike with the rack. Generally these are designed for city bikes, therefore some will not fit on your bike if you do not have adapted "holes" on its frame. In this case you can always go for a model that fits on the seat tube. In this case the weight will be limited to 10 kg.
