A road bike is distinguished from a mountain bike by its aerodynamic shape, narrow tyres, frame size and lightweight components, designed for long rides on the road.

Drivetrains
A road bike has a drivetrain with one or two chainrings, although the latter tends to disappear these days. This drivetrain includes a crankset, a cassette, a derailleur system and a chain. Today, Shimano, SRAM and Campagnolo are the main manufacturers of drive systems on the market. A cheap road bike for beginners is enough to get acquainted with the sensations of cycling and gradually get used to clipless pedals.
