The Triathlon bike, a specific bike

Triathlon is a series of three events: swimming, cycling and running. The cycling test not being the last, it's important to engage this trial with some strength left. It's therefore important for the triathlete to have a bike that is light, comfortable and efficient.
The triathlon bike is a bike specially designed for this practice. Sorting bikes are similar to time trial bikes. For example, it has a greater seat angle than on conventional bikes, in order to have a more aerodynamic position. Aerodynamics is particularly important because the event is like a time trial; no one does platooning and, consequently, no one can find shelter from the wind. Indeed, the competitors must leave at least seven meters between them. The bike is also equipped with triathlete handlebars with extensions on which the riders can take a more leaning and restful position on the bike, with the elbows resting on these handlebars. The frame is generally made of carbon or aluminium; the wheels are often made in carbon with a high profile in order to favour aerodynamics. It' possible to buy the complete triathlon bike or opt for an a la carte mounting as it's often done in the time trial.
