How to adjust your fork?


To optimise this operation, it is recommended for a hydraulic fork to be drained every year. The levels are done, the air is inflated, and off you go again!
Tools : Screwdriver / Socket spanner / High pressure pump / Regulator / Oil + jar

Step 1

Deflate the fork completely and compress it fully so that the joint comes to a stop.

Re-inflate the fork so that it returns to its original position without touching the joint.

Measure the total displacement from the joint to the base of the plunger.

Step 4

Replace the collar at the bottom and slowly get on the bike in full gear.

The ideal SAG** value is 15-20% of displacement for XC use and 20-30% for a more engaged use. Some brands have a table of correspondences on the fork according to the weight of the rider. Adjust with the high-pressure pump, and note the value in a notebook.

Then adjust the preload and rebound according to the settings offered by your fork. To start with, place these settings in the middle.
