Technical and efficient ice ax for classic mountaineering.

Intended for the practice of classic mountaineering, the SUMMIT EVO ice ax is the essential tool for all types of alpine outings. Lightweight, its hydro-formed tube offers very good grip comfort under the head of the ice axe. The technical design of the curve of the handle provides the necessary clearance for use in steep and icy terrain. The forged and well-balanced head provides very good anchoring qualities. The grip of the handle makes it a precise and efficient ice axe.

DETAILS :

Lightness : lightweight ice ax that retains weight at the head for good anchoring power.
Hydro-formed handle for a good grip on the curve and a technical design :
- the handle is curved in its upper part which offers a good clearance distance when climbing,
- the lower part is straighter and guarantees efficient penetration in the snow.
Head and blade in hot-forged steel, ensuring solid anchorages :
- thin blade (3 mm), robust and toothed at the end, ensuring good quality anchoring in hard snow and ice,
- thicker blade in the center to improve grip in soft snow.
- teeth in the upper part of the blade reinforcing the hold of the ice ax when using the ice axe-ramp,
- robust stainless steel tip for very good penetration in hard snow and when used as an ice axe.
High resistance and practical aspects :
- very resistant steel purlin offering a comfortable support surface and with a design of the edges allowing to cut steps efficiently,
- sloping tip to guide the ice ax correctly in the snow (use as an ice axe-cane),
- head and tip equipped with holes for the passage of a carabiner or a strap,
- high quality aluminum handle (7075 aluminum used in aeronautics), with anodized finish for excellent protection.
Ice ax compatible with the LINKIN strap.
