Developed with a precise goal in mind: to obtain maximum performance on climbs.
The new Fulcrum Speed 25 wheels combine lightness and handling in a low-profile product, perfect for conquering the peaks and enjoying the descents thanks to the application of the best Fulcrum technologies.
The development of the Speed 25 wheels was inspired by the victorious Racing Light XLR, wheels that have made a lasting impression on both end-users and the professionals who have used them in mountain stages. The Speed 25 features a 26mm profile, symmetrical at the front and asymmetrical at the rear, to optimize the balance between lightness and aerodynamics. With an official weight of only 1,285 grams, they are ideal for cyclists looking to get the best time on the climbs, but also for ultra-cycling enthusiasts who face adverse weather conditions and want a stable and reliable wheel even in strong gusts of wind.
The Speed 25s are developed in a tubeless and disc brake version, with a 21mm internal rim tape, and they adopt Fulcrum's proprietary MoMag™ and DIMF technologies, as well as USB™ ceramic bearings and a minimalist hub design. Lightness, handling and fluidity are the main aspects that explain their performance
Product advantages:
- Thanks to Fulcrum's 2-WAY FIT technology, the new model is perfectly compatible with tubeless and clincher tires.
- Fulcrum® has always been known for the great fluidity and reliability performance of its hubs.
All the designs were developed on site in the R&D workshop where every detail is meticulously analyzed.
Hubs with USB™ ceramic bearings (Ultra Smooth Bearings) further increase the fluidity level of the wheels and reduce weight and maintenance.
- What is the MoMag™? A magnet and a lot of engineering. Thus was born the patent for the proven "Mounting Magnete" system, namely the MoMag™.
- The Axial Fixing System™ is the solution developed by Fulcrum® to fix the disc brake to the hub. The constraint granted by the butt area of the release mechanism, greater than in familiar standard ones, makes it possible to obtain greater structural rigidity and therefore more precise and powerful braking.
- The asymmetry of the rim has been designed to improve rim tension, balancing the forces coming from the brakes and the sprocket cassette.
- Plasma treatment makes the aluminum particularly hard and resistant to abrasion and surface wear. This has allowed for the minimization of material layers for the benefit of weight, while maintaining the characteristics of longevity and reliability.
- For the construction of Fulcrum® all-carbon rims, combinations of different types of fiber, including unidirectional and the famous 90-degree 3K that equips our top-of-the-line models, were designed in the laboratory.
