Comfort is key during endurance events, and the Lava wetsuit has seen significant improvements in the fabric used on the upper body to enhance breathability, temperature control, and freedom of movement.
The Tri Shorts
Just like the Lava Tri Top, Zone3 has strived to make these shorts as comfortable and high-performing as possible. 220 Magazine first tested the two-piece set and awarded it a score of 92% along with the “Editor’s Choice Award,” stating that the shorts were “remarkably good on the saddle.” The materials were carefully selected to offer the best balance between support and comfort.
The Lava shorts and top required a lot of research and development to get to where they are today. Running this distance is no easy task, so Zone3 hopes these shorts will help you every step of the way. Full suits are also available if you prefer separates.

- Sensorial: An extremely smooth and soft fabric that feels fantastic against the skin, offering extra support and compression on the legs as well as a fully water-repellent finish. The fabric is highly breathable and wicks away sweat, while 360° stretch ensures total freedom of movement.
- Integrated leg grippers: High-end Italian design using natural gold fibers for enhanced comfort. This extended panel is bonded for optimal fit and drag resistance. The leg gussets keep the legs in place on the bike and during the run, without additional seams like on most triathlon suits. This fabric is also highly breathable, wicks away moisture, and is comfortable against the skin, allowing for a perfect fit.

- Super-snug waistband: A 3.5 cm elastic waistband has been added to the shorts for an extremely comfortable fit and good support.
- Balanced compression is provided throughout the legs thanks to a carefully designed panel shape and the high denier of the Sensory fabric. This improves muscle support and helps increase blood flow to the legs, thereby reducing the amount of lactic acid buildup and helping to improve your endurance.
- Tri-Comp Pad.
- Designed to sit slightly higher on the waist than a standard Tri Short to ensure coverage on the back in the aero position.
- Rear nutrition storage pocket: Additionally, a new zippered rear pocket, perfect for valuables or food that need a more secure fit during the swim and can be eaten on the way to T1.
- Construction: Utilizing heat-sealed seams, flatlock seams, and sealed seams to achieve the perfect balance between comfort and speed.
