Odlo, technical underwear specialist

Odlo is a Swiss brand of Norwegian origin specialising in sports underwear and sportswear ranges for running, cycling, cross-country skiing, accessories. Founded in 1946 by Odd Roar Lofterod in Norway, cross-country skiing champion in Oslo, the company initially made women's underwear. The creator's son, who was part of the Norwegian speed skating team, gave his father the idea of creating Helanca fibre trousers to stay warm during training sessions. It was an immediate success, ogled by all the athletes on the team!
Following this example, Odlo gradually equipped the national teams of cross-country and speed skating with warm and elastic suits made of synthetic fibres. The first Odlo Termic synthetic underwear was thus created.

Odd Roar Junior took over the company in 1979, transferred its headquarters to Switzerland in 1986, and developed the three-layer system for maximum comfort during sports activities: the first layer consists of underwear that removes moisture, the second regulates the temperature and the third protects from the wind and weather.

Odlo: constant innovation since 1946

In 1994, the running and outdoor collections were launched. In 2002, Odlo developed the first underwear with the Effect fibre by Odlo that contains silver ions to inhibit odours.

In 2004, a clothing line for the Nordic brand was launched and, in 2007, the Kids collection with the opening of 6 new stores in Europe the same year.

In 2011, the brand launched a Bike collection for cyclists and mountain bikers with technical underwear to exercise these sports in any weather and according to the intensity of the effort.

Odlo is a partner of many national Nordic ski teams and equips them. The brand ambassadors such as Dario Cologna or Ingalena Heuck all come from different sports worlds (skiing, mountain biking, running, triathlon...) and contribute to the development of new technologies for the brand.

Odlo, who celebrated its 70th birthday in 2016, is also the new Official Partner and Supplier of the French Nordic Ski Teams (Biathlon, Cross-country skiing, Nordic Combined, Jump). This partnership with the French Ski Federation takes effect ever since the winter of 2016 for a period of 6 years, with the prospect of the 2018 Olympic Games in Pyeongchang in South Korea as well as those in Beijing in 2022.

Today, Odlo is a reference in the sports equipment market.
