Buying guide

The Deuter Freerider 28 SL ski backpack impresses with its elaborate winter equipment; for example, with its full back opening. On the one hand, this provides an optimal overview of the equipment. On the other hand, the back system remains dry when the rucksack is removed. If a little snow should nevertheless reach the carrying system, the new robust, breathable and snow-resistant material ensures that the back remains dry. Safety is also a very important point for freeriders. With a separate, quickly accessible safety compartment for the probe and shovel, this backpack keeps the essentials close at hand in case of emergency. Another new feature is the variable attachment system. With two separate straps, skis, snowboard or snowshoes can be attached to the outside of the backpack in no time at all: skis diagonally or in the shape of an A, snowboards and snowshoes vertically. In addition, the flexible binding straps are used for lateral compression.

  • Women's SL cut: The length of the SL back is specific to women. On average, women have shorter backs than men. The carrying system of the SL model is therefore a little shorter than that of standard Deuter backpacks. In addition, the carrying system is specially adapted to the female anatomy.
  • Alpine: With backpacks intended for use in alpine regions, it is essential to ensure an optimal balance between comfort, durability and functionality in terms of weight. The "Alpine" system is the answer to this challenge. Its two soft banded pads flexibly embrace the back with every movement.
