Made from the same materials as workwear, this model is rugged enough to handle the toughest pitches, yet light enough to climb the longest routes. This parka is part of the Free Wall Kit. Designed to meet the ever-evolving strategic demands of Patagonia ambassadors in modern climbing, the Free Wall Kit is built for the most challenging multi-pitch routes, where every moment of rest is precious for recharging. Made in a Fair Trade Certified™ workshop.

  • Durable outer fabric: A lightweight version of the ultra-durable outer fabric found in our Steel Forge work jackets, the main fabric is made from highly stretchy Ultra-PE ripstop—98% recycled nylon and 2% recycled polyester—which protects the 800 cuin-fill-power down insulation from abrasion and offers complete freedom of movement, even after you’ve just climbed 15 pitches
  • Remarkably Lightweight Lining: A comfortablelining that’s lighter than the outer fabric to minimize bulk and improve packability; soft and quiet to help you find a moment of calm during strenuous activity
  • Warm, helmet-compatible hood with elastic trim: Large hood with a draft-proof tube that slips easily over a helmet for unmatched warmth; soft elastic trim at the hood, cuffs, and hem to protect against the elements
  • Protected access to the belay system: Two-way Vislon® frontzipper with two inner storm flaps that fasten together at the bottom of the jacket with a snap, allowing you to use your belay system without exposing yourself to the elements
  • Features specifically designed for multi-pitch routes: Wideshoulders and discontinuous padding for added comfort and freedom of movement; an external loop at the nape of the neck that allows you to clip the jacket to the belay station with the durable, weather-resistant fabric facing outward
  • Pocket features: Two large zippered handwarmer pockets that are easy to access while hanging at a belay station; the parka packs into the left pocket; two interior mesh utility pockets to keep gloves or climbing shoes warm
  • This model is manufactured in a Fair Trade Certified™ workshop, which means the workers who made it received a premium for their work

  • Lining: Pertex® Quantum—100% post-consumer recycled NetPlus® ripstop nylon, 10 denier, 27 g/m², made from recycled fishing nets to reduce plastic pollution in the oceans; with a durable water-repellent (DWR) finish containing no intentionally added PFAS
  • Insulation: 100% Responsible Down Standarddown with a fill power of 800 cuin, certified by Control Union (CU 880272)

  • Made in a Fair Trade Certified™ workshop
  • Care: Machinewash cold; do not bleach; tumble dry on low heat; do not iron; do not steam; tumble dry with 2 tennis balls for best results
