When Castelli designed the first aero jersey for road racing in 2006, everyone thought they were crazy. At the time, aero was only for TTs. Performance clothing meant moisture and you could win the Tour de France in a loose jersey that was little more than a polyester T-shirt.

Even the aero consultants expected limited gains. In the end, the gains were quite significant and Castelli completely revolutionized the look of the pro peloton. They are now on the sixth major revision of the aero jersey. Each generation has become more aerodynamic and better fitting. The Aero Race 6.0 benefits greatly from CFD analysis of wake flow in the riding position for fabric and seam placement. It also benefits from feedback from professional riders, as Castelli has worked to make the jersey comfortable for their long hours of training and racing.
