Unlike every other fork axle on the market, these feature a unique double-hex design. This is the traditional 6 mm that everyone is familiar with, but also an 8 mm Allen key. This "Get out of Jail" feature makes removal much easier if the 6mm is chewed, too tight or not removed for a long time. We all know how painful it is to miss a release, and this feature should help prevent that from happening.
