Description

The new SC-MT800 handlebar-mounted control display for the DEORE XT M8050 Di2 groupset now incorporates private ANT and Bluetooth connectivity for rider data transmission and system customisation functions, respectively.

The most innovative technology of the DEORE XT Di2 M8050 is the new wireless Bluetooth connection to Shimano's E-TUBE program, which is the system used by Shimano to configure and control the behaviour of the Di2 derailleur. Using Bluetooth technology, cyclists or mechanics can communicate wirelessly with their computer, tablet or smartphone via the SC-MT800 system's information screen and a new battery. In addition to enabling wireless workshop customisation, this allows riders to customise their gearing preferences on the trail via an app on their smartphones.

In addition, Shimano's D-FLY wireless data management system will allow riders to view battery and gear information on their compatible third-party display devices (e.g. bike computers). This technology will be rolled out with DEORE XT Di2 components and will be available as an upgrade for those currently using Shimano XTR Di2, either with SC-MT800 or SCM9051 system information displays and a new internal or external battery.
