The last generation of the Hightower remains an engineering best-of. Now reworked, but still ready for any terrain. Large in wheel size, moderate in travel and low in excuses, this all-rounder keeps coming back for more, thanks to a balanced blend of durability, optimized equipment and adapted geometry. If you're not looking to go to extremes, but are looking for an extremely efficient bike, the Hightower is your new reference.
The VPP suspension system uses a one-piece swingarm that requires no pivot points on the chainstays, resulting in a robust, high-performance package.
Suspension sensitivity: Compared with the previous Hightower, the Santa Cruz teams have reduced the anti-squat on the first 40% of travel. This significantly improves suspension sensitivity, both uphill and downhill, thanks to the reduced influence of the chain on the suspension.
Suspension consistency: The suspension ratio curve is slightly straighter than on the previous version of the Hightower, offering more progressiveness at the end of the travel. This provides greater resistance to bottoming with more consistent damping and better support.
Glovebox : Place everything you need for your outing in the secure and assuredly high-quality slot in the bottom tube. Our Glovebox comes standard with a tool kit and inner tube pouch. Two quality pockets to keep everything you might need close at hand.
Sag overview: A small window allowing you to see the sag makes it easier to adjust the shock. The detail is further enhanced by a small mudguard to protect the shock, well-integrated and internally-guided cable routing in the front triangle, and well-placed rubber protectors.
Flip chip: In the low position, the suspension ratio becomes more progressive, especially at the end of the stroke, with strong resistance to bottoming. In the high position, the bike stays higher in travel with better mid-stroke support. The most demanding riders will be able to adapt the suspension to their needs and preferences.
