What to do if you are in between bike sizes?
If you are on the edge of two different bike sizes, don't worry, you'll probably be ok on either size (rather than thinking that one size will be awful and the other will fit). Indeed, bikes are adjustable: the seatpost can slide up and down, the saddle can move backwards and forwards and you can even switch out parts like the stem for different sized ones to help the bike fit better.
Finding out whether or not you should pick a bigger or a smaller frame is sometimes as simple as personal preference, but there are a few simple ways to work out which might suit best:
- If you’re flexible, you might prefer a shorter head tube, so the smaller size might work out better for you. You can use a longer stem to make the reach more comfortable.
- On a bigger bike, the reach to the handlebars will be longer. This means that if you have proportionally longer arms, you might be more comfortable on a bigger frame.

A 29ER TO RIDE YOUR BEST TIMES

Maybe you're one of them. If so, you'll love the Factor LANDO XC. This lightweight, full-suspension 29er elbows its way to the front of the starting line with race-oriented geometry and suspension. Fast and fun, it's the perfect mountain bike for Cape Epic wannabes, gravel crossovers and roadies looking to get dirty.
VERTICALLY-ORIENTED SHOCK
The choice to design the LANDO XC with a vertical shock offers huge advantages in terms of lightness and handling: shock forces can be concentrated in the sturdy, already-built bottom bracket area, resulting in a svelte top tube that doesn't require excessive carbon layers and weight. The design also ensures that the shock is completely isolated from any side load, improving shock life and sensitivity to small bumps by eliminating binding.
PREDICTABLE SUSPENSION
Riders who take their XC training and racing seriously rely on predictable suspension whatever the speed. Whether you're tackling a climb or a flowing track, no one wants to have to deal with a kickback or brake jack. That's why we've designed a proprietary single-pivot "false bar" linkage with 115 mm of rear travel based on a 45 mm stroke shock, and 100 mm based on a 40 mm stroke shock. The philosophy behind our kinematics keeps anti-squat in the 90% range to ensure that the suspension remains firm but active when you're pushing the watts. You won't need to know the jack or the squat.
SLIT SEAT TUBE
Factor design features are never there just for show. The LANDO XC's slotted seat tube is not only a reference to the Twin Vane EVO's slotted seat tube on our road bikes, but also allows you to use a monobox base and reduce weight. Shared pivots mounted directly in the frames provide a super-rigid, well-aligned interface for the entire suspension.
ONE-PIECE MOLDED CARBON BASCULE
The one-piece molded carbon rocker is extremely rigid, preventing any side-loading on the shock, considerably extending its life. This design also reduces static friction during use. Sharing the shock absorber and lower swingarm pivot as widely as possible ensures the simplest, lightest and strongest use of the frame material available. To give the system a clean, slender appearance, most fasteners are hidden or located on the opposite side to the transmission. The design is a reference to the similar Factor combination designs found on our top-of-the-range road bikes.
PROGRESSIVE AND MODERN GEOMETRY
The 67° head tube angle combined with the 120 mm travel fork allows you to sit back and control your speed on technical terrain. The 75.5° seat tube angle, combined with the zero offset seat post, allows you to increase your power by positioning your knee on the pedal axle. The long top tube combined with the relatively short stem keeps your center of gravity above the rear end of the bike for traction and control. The trail-balanced rear center length ensures predictable handling.
BLACK INC INTEGRATION
The LANDO has been designed in unison with Black Inc components to complement ride quality and minimize weight. Made from the highest quality materials, including an extremely durable Ni-Cr axle, CeramicSpeed bearings and Sapim CX-Ray spokes, Black Inc TWENTY SEVEN wheels are XC-specific with a modern focus for today's technical courses and exceptional riders. The one-piece handlebar post, tow-bolt seat post and computer mount with hidden Go-Pro attachment complete the custom component package.
NOT A TAPER, BUT A REFINED XC RIDER
Is speed your priority? With the LANDO XC, you can take to the trails knowing that your bike will deliver rock-solid handling and responsiveness. Comfort levels remain high even after hours in the saddle.
INTERNAL AND EXTERNAL CABLE ROUTING
The LANDO offers internal and external options for routing hydraulic brake cables. Please note that internal routing is not possible with mechanical transmissions. We offer internal routing for dropper post as well as rear locking.
SEVERAL ATTACHMENT POINTS
We've designed the LANDO to accommodate a bottle cage in the frame, with three bosses in the down tube to allow you to find the ideal location. There are also bosses under the top tube for mounting tools and accessories, and a Bento-style holder on the top tube for easy access to tools or food during long marathons or races.
FULL-LENGTH DOWNTAUBE PROTECTION
Don't worry about damaging the pristine carbon of the LANDO frame, thanks to the integrated full-length downtube protector.
ELEGANT SEAT POST CLAMP
The integrated seatpost clamp offers a sleek look for a standard 31.6 mm seatpost. The road-inspired aesthetic complements the seatpost design, which adds vertical flex to contribute to the progressiveness of the shock curve.
ANTI-ROTATION PROTECTION
A mechanically fixed anti-rotation guard sits discreetly under the downtube to ensure that your frame is not damaged by excessive rotation of the front end in the event of a fall or other unwanted incident.
CERAMICSPEED BEARINGS
Factor has invested to offer CeramicSpeed bearings as standard on the LANDO. The crankset uses coated bearings thanks to their corrosion resistance, longevity and incredibly low friction. Similarly, the headset's SLT bearings are maintenance-free and virtually indestructible. All CeramicSpeed bearings come with a lifetime warranty
