Description

Specially designed for young or smaller cyclists, the youth neck support works when the helmet and support frame provide an alternative means of loading the excessive energy compressing the neck. If the helmet is in contact with the cervical support at the moment of impact, the overall load passing through the neck can be reduced, which can prevent a fracture from occurring and reduce the risk of muscular injury due to extreme head movement. While it is not possible to eliminate the risk of all forms of injury, the support has been proven to help reduce the most severe damage and minimize the risk of collateral injury as the impact load is channeled away from the neck.

DETAILS

The YNS frame is made from an injected polymer compound that has undergone extensive impact testing on a range of off-road surfaces and at different temperatures.
The anatomical profile of the frame promotes positive contact with the helmet in the event of an accident, while allowing the rider to maintain freedom of movement. Ultra-lightweight EVA foam on the underside of the support for comfort and positioning, and to distribute impact force over the widest possible area.
Quick-release fastening system makes it easy to engage the support and remove it quickly in an emergency.
The rear stabilization system helps keep the support in position and is also designed to channel extreme energy loads away from the spine, transmitting them through the shoulder and helping to avoid serious spinal injury.
The support comes with an easy-to-use strap system that allows it to be used over or under the jersey to secure the device to the rider.
The Youth Neck Support can be easily integrated with the A-5S Youth Body Armor to increase the overall protective coverage of the young rider.
