The Pirelli Scorpion XC M mountain bike tire is the best choice for marathon routes where the ground often varies, but speed remains a fundamental characteristic. It features a medium tread profile and spacing for fast, safe riding on a variety of different soils, from hard to soft.

The Scorpion XC M tread is composed of lugs whose spacing and height have been studied in combination with the mechanical and physical characteristics of the rubber to offer uncompromising performance in conditions ranging from compact to inconsistent. The addition of specific ribs helps support the studs and promote mud release in wet conditions. SmartGRIP Compound is a compound developed on the experience of motorsport championships. The choice of monomix rubber offers consistently high grip in wet and dry conditions, even when studs start to wear. ProWall is the sidewall reinforcement technology, for puncture protection and low-pressure handling. An additional layer of nylon applied to the carcass sidewalls for extra protection and greater cornering stability
