The balloon bike trend began ten years ago with the Big Apple: a comfortable bike without expensive suspension techniques. Air-cushion Tyres are used for natural suspension. At around 2 bar, a balloon bike rides wonderfully smoothly and with full spring action. A normal 37 mm wide Tyre needs to be inflated to 4 bar very hard to roll well.
