Description

Northern California's coast and the Santa Cruz Mountains are steeped in road riding history. To honor it, we named our new top-shelf crank Zayante, after the legendary redwood-covered climb so named-a secret training ground for many local pros. The Zayante Carbon is the ultimate combination of lightness, stiffness and versatility.

The 40-tooth Direct Mount chainring, which comes with the crankset, has a unique Wave Tech tooth profile, which provides special chain retention and excellent self-cleaning properties. In addition, the load is distributed more evenly, which benefits the service life. Please note that the Zayante bottom bracket set must be combined with a Praxis Works M30 bottom bracket.

The Wave tooth profile applies lateral force alternately from the right and left to the chain links to actively hold the chain in place. The teeth are alternately positioned further to the right or left of the chainring center and the characteristic wave motion is created as the crankset turns. This design opens up more space for cleaning out dirt and mud and prevents the chain from falling off in difficult conditions. Wave causes much less wear than comparable models and spreads the load over a larger area
  • M30
Praxis Works M30 bottom brackets can only be used with Praxis Works M30 cranksets. The M30 axle is a kind of Oversize GXP". It is 30mm thick and reduced to 28mm at the left end to fit the housing on the opposite side of the cassette. A corrugated washer is used on the cassette side to ensure pre-tension, and a 30mm housing is opposed by a 28mm bearing on the opposite side. The M30 combines the advantages of wide bearings with the benefits of a robust 30 mm shaft. This provides a secure hold and better power transmission.
