Semi-Rigid MTB: the ideal compromise for many mountain bikers

The Semi-Rigid Mountain Bike is made up of a rigid frame (therefore without rear suspension) and a telescopic fork.

These are MTB models that are most often found on paths and trails. They provide a good compromise between cushioning (and therefore comfort) and weight (and therefore pace).

For the rest of the components, the Semi-Rigid Mountain Bike, or MTB is close to Full Suspension MTB models.

Some models do not have any suspensions at all, they are 100% Rigid models, and are now very rare. We find them on Fat Bikes for example or on Cheap and Beginner MTBs.

The size of the wheels !

Today on the mountain bike market, there are 3 standard bikes :

- the 26 inch

- the 27.5

- the 29 inch

Those sizes corresponds to the size of the wheels. Depending on your practice and the terrain you use, you will choose the 26 inch for precision riding and the 29 for better traction and performance on rolling terrain. The 27.5 inch is the in-between.

Versatility with a Semi-Rigid Mountain Bike
