Oakley, the reference for sports glasses
The Oakley brand was created in 1975 by Jim Jannard in California. Oakley was the name of his dog who used to lie at the foot of an oak tree (oak-ley).
Initially, the company manufactured handlebar handles for motocross, then it started designing masks for cross country bikes, skis and then cycling goggles.
