A little history about the brand
Adidas was created by Adolf Dassler on August 18, 1949, with the main objective of improving performance. The term adidas comes from the contraction of his nickname "Adi" and the first syllable of his last name "Das".
It was during the 1936 Berlin Olympics that adidas (Dassler Shoes at the time) experienced tremendous success thanks to Jesse Owens. The sprinter won 4 gold medals wearing a pair of the brand's spikes. Initially a track specialist, adidas diversified to become a global leader in road, trail, and athletics today.
