What to do if you are in between bike sizes?

If you are on the edge of two different bike sizes, don't worry, you'll probably be ok on either size (rather than thinking that one size will be awful and the other will fit). Indeed, bikes are adjustable: the seatpost can slide up and down, the saddle can move backwards and forwards and you can even switch out parts like the stem for different sized ones to help the bike fit better.

Finding out whether or not you should pick a bigger or a smaller frame is sometimes as simple as personal preference, but there are a few simple ways to work out which might suit best:
  • If you’re flexible, you might prefer a shorter head tube, so the smaller size might work out better for you. You can use a longer stem to make the reach more comfortable.
  • On a bigger bike, the reach to the handlebars will be longer. This means that if you have proportionally longer arms, you might be more comfortable on a bigger frame.

Choosing the right road bike

The Caledonia is the bike we always go for rides that push the odometer well beyond triple digits. Long rides always consist of smooth roads, lower grade pavements, small single lane roads and maybe even your local stretch of the Strade Bianche. So we designed a bike capable of withstanding anything, brilliantly, and accommodating mudguards when the clouds turn to torrential rain 130 km after your departure.

The Caledonia-5 was developed in collaboration with WorldTour riders to meet their need for a bike intended for cobblestones. Faster handling isn't always desired - we designed handling around a particular usage. In this case, it is Roubaix. This test is tougher on bikes than any other race, and there is no room for error. The length of the bottom bracket forks has been lengthened, the bottom bracket shell lowered and the caster increased. The handling is still very fast, but we have improved the stability.

Modern road cyclists are looking for a bike that can cover long distances quickly and without limits for maximum fun. By using low modulus carbon fiber in specific locations to avoid the brittleness of high modulus carbon, the Caledonia delivers performance, comfort and speed. You can use 34mm tires or 31mm tire with mudguard.
