Thanks to a cut adapted to women's morphology and the use of progressive materials, versatile mountain bike shorts have reached new heights. The women's Assos Trail Cargo shorts feature an elastic waistband for a snug fit, a close-fitting cut on the upper legs to prevent snagging in the saddle, an ideal length with or without the addition of a chamois, and a new, versatile fabric capable of accompanying your movements with every pedal stroke.
Studying other loose-fitting shorts, Assos engineers realized that the inserts always tended to pile up uncomfortably, and that the presence of fasteners, straps and zippers only contributed to adding unnecessary weight and pinching while pedaling. In response, their minimalist approach features an adaptable fabric in the main yokes that is both durable and lightweight. Its two-way stretch mesh gives it an extremely homogeneous character in terms of composition, making it a comfortable, quick-drying material, perfectly suited for rough trails.
Having perfected the first half of the elements that go to make up these shorts, they went on to study the cut with a fine-tooth comb. This led to the creation of a snug-fitting upper section, starting with the elastic yoke at the waistband for a soft, comfortable fit around the waist without unnecessary pressure. Next, they raised the circumference of the garment around the thighs, allowing you to move in the saddle without feeling any discomfort between the legs. They've also loosened the lower legs and provided them with a 32 cm inner seam, for an ideal fit with or without a chamois. The brand recommends pairing this piece with the Trail Liner undershort for women, for unrivalled support and comfort as well as flawless protection when mountain biking.
