This is the jacket/jersey that started a whole line of products: the Gabba model. It is a short-sleeved jacket that is waterproof, but also ideal for dry weather. Designed to be worn with Castelli Nano Flex cuffs, it keeps you warm without the risk of overheating.

DESCRIPTION

In 2010, Castelli introduced the Gabba to the pros and changed the way the pros run in the rain and cold. And the way they dress for cool weather workouts. The Gabba also happens to be the ideal cool weather piece for all non-professional cyclists because of the way it keeps your core warm and dry without being too hot. The latest Gabba is the fifth generation, and this current version is essentially waterproof while retaining the breathability and wind protection that have always made the Gabba so good. It uses two separate Castelli-exclusive GORE-TEX INFINIUM™ WINDSTOPPER® fabrics: warmer and 100% waterproof on the front, shoulders, and sleeves, as well as a lighter, more breathable, and stretchy fabric on the back that provides sufficient protection from the elements. Part of the name refers to updates in the latest version, including a YKK® Vislon® zipper with top and bottom vents for more adjustable ventilation. The reflectivity at the back is more visible, the top shoulder seam has been moved to the back, and the three pockets hold more gear. Typically, we layer the Gabba over a sleeveless base layer and short sleeve jersey, and pair it with Nano Flex cuffs for cooler and/or wetter conditions, or seamless arm warmers for mild conditions. The Gabba RoS 2 is a must-have for fall and spring.

TECHNOLOGIES

  • GORE-TEX INFINIUM™ WINDSTOPPER®: Gore-Tex® garments offer total wind protection and maximum breathability. The windproof membrane keeps you from getting cold from wind chill, but the optimal breathability prevents overheating and moisture buildup by allowing perspiration to easily escape. Water repellency is provided by DWR treatment applied to the outer fabric.
  • ROS: RAIN OR SHINE
  • NANO FLEX: A technology designed exclusively by Castelli. They took their Thermoflex stretch fleece and thermal fabric and coated it with millions of tiny nanofilaments to create the most water repellent finish available. Drops of water bead up on its surface and bounce off without even leaving a trace.
