For the first time, a lightweight LITECELL PU midsole has been integrated to ensure all-day comfort and prevent you from tiring quickly. Thanks to its perfect shape, the shoe provides energy return: with precise movement, you’ll move in a sporty and energetic way. Whether on easy trails or alpine routes, the grippy Vibram outsole gives you total control at all times. If the tread wears down after thousands of kilometers, you can have the LOWA® EXPLORER GTX LO resole.

- Lightweight, modern & comfortable: The LOWA® EXPLORER was developed as a modern hybrid that combines different outdoor worlds. Inspired by trail running, the LITECELL PU midsole is exceptionally lightweight and provides long-lasting, comfortable cushioning.
Thanks to its traditional glued-in-sole construction, the LOWA® EXPLORER offers the reliability of a mountaineering boot—combined with the comfort of a modern outdoor shoe. - Excellent traction: The Vibram outsole with 5 mm-deep lugs ensures reliable traction even in a wide range of weather conditions, especially on unpaved trails.
- Waterproof and breathable: The waterproof GORE-TEX® membrane keeps moisture out while ensuring a comfortable climate inside thanks to its high breathability. This keeps your feet dry—and ready for many more kilometers.

- As a modern hybrid model, the LOWA® EXPLORER combines technologies from mountaineering and trail running. This trekking shoe is therefore suitable for approach hikes, spontaneous day hikes, or via ferrata routes. On longer hikes, it remains consistently comfortable thanks to the trail-running-inspired midsole.
- The special Vibram rubber compound maintains its grip in all weather conditions, providing excellent traction even in wet conditions. With its pronounced tread pattern, it’s designed for versatile terrain, from forest trails to steep, root-covered terrain.
- Every shoe has its own intended use, but that doesn’t mean one is better or worse than another. Ankle-high boots are better suited for challenging terrain and long hikes because they provide greater stability around the ankle. Low-cut shoes are lighter and are therefore ideal for fast-paced hikes with light packs.
