The Mahle Head Unit + (HU+) integrated control display is the central management interface for your eBike. Removal procedure:

• Step 1: Turn off the electric bike (eBike). Lift the rubber protective cover located under the button to expose the screw.
• Step 2: Loosen the M3x16 screw integrated into the HU+ using an Allen wrench. Do not remove it completely (stop as soon as you feel a noticeable change in torque).
• Step 3: Remove the HU+ by first lifting the side closest to the button.
• Step 4: Disconnect the battery connector (and the Duo connector, if present) from the HU+ connectors and pull the cables out of the frame. (If the extension cable also needs to be replaced, the motor must be removed first).

Installation Procedure:

• Step 1: If the connecting cable between the main harness and the Head Unit needs to be replaced, remove the battery and the motor. The new cable must be inserted from the motor housing, following the original routing.
• Step 2: Lift the rubber cap covering the screw to access it.
• Step 3: Feed the HU+ wiring through the hole in the top tube and connect it to the battery harness cable and the Duo cable, if present.
• Step 4: Insert the unit, first aligning the cable exit area with the top tube. Then fully insert the HU+ into its housing on the top tube.
• Step 5: Secure the HU+ with an M3x16 mm screw using an Allen wrench. Apply a maximum torque of 0.8 Nm (ensure the clamp is tightened against the locknut).
• Step 6: Cover the screw with the rubber cap to prevent dirt from getting in.
