As you pedal, your weight is shifted back and forth to the left and right ischiums, causing pressure and discomfort. Ergon CORE 3D ® reduces this pressure through the special and unique material properties of the ergonomic core. The bike saddle can adapt to the pelvis with each pedal stroke, resulting in a huge gain in comfort.

BASF's innovative Infinergy ® material sets new standards for suspension and damping on the bike. The elastic core of the saddle supports the natural movement of the pelvis with each pedal stroke, absorbs road shock and is gentle on the lower back. When the pressure is released, the Ergon Core, composed of thousands of foam particles, returns to its original shape in a flash, even under continuous load. Leading manufacturers of performance running shoes also use this E-TPU foam worldwide with great success.

The revolutionary construction of the CORE 3D ® saddle with double-shell technology takes comfort to a whole new level. In a conventional saddle, there is only one saddle shell. This single shell supports the rider's load and therefore has to be very rigid. The Ergon SMC Core, on the other hand, has two shells. The majority of the rider's weight is supported by the stiffer lower shell. On the upper flexible shell is the cushion and the seat surface. Between the two shells is the floating ergonomic Infinergy® core, which isolates road shock, dampens vibration, supports pelvic motion during pedaling and provides significant relief to the ischium.
- DOUBLE-SHELL, INTERNAL-CORE SHOCKER: Support that follows your pedal stroke
The view below of the SMC Core shows the entire surface of the saddle - the high-performance elastomer shock absorber decouples the two seat shells from each other. This sandwich construction with elastic core allows the saddle to follow natural pedaling movements more ergonomically in all three directions. Riding surface irregularities and vibrations are effectively filtered out with Ergon CORE 3D ®.
- ORTHOPEDIC FOAM: Comfortable and durable
The SMC Core padding is made of orthopedic comfort foam. The foam is supportive, soft, but does not collapse. In addition to the foam, special gel inserts provide even more comfort under the seat. With this saddle, it is not absolutely necessary to wear shorts. The saddle is covered with robust microfiber to prevent abrasion and maintain the durability of the saddle.
