There are three Shimano SPD-SL shim models. Each is represented by a color: yellow, red or blue. Each has its own unique features, including angular freedom and pivot points. They are designed to adapt to the different biomechanical characteristics of cyclists.

The red Shimano SM-SH10 SPD-SL cleats offer no angular freedom (0° angular freedom) and are completely fixed. These shims are perfect for sprinters, professional athletes or anyone who prefers the most efficient power transfer possible and doesn't suffer from knee pain. Before buying red SPD-SL shims, you need to know the precise optimal position of the shims, and how to adjust them to achieve this perfect position.
