If the hole in your tire is so big that the sealant can't seal it, your tire will lose all air pressure and, more often than not, the tire bead will detach from the rim, creating air holes. As anyone who has ridden tubeless tires knows, it's not easy to get enough air into the tire for the bead to snap back into place, even in the comfort of your workshop, let alone on the track with a group of impatient mates - or worse - in the middle of a race.
Many people carry mini hand pumps with them, and they're great for re-inflating small amounts on the road after a slight loss of pressure, but you'd need forearms like Popeye to re-inflate your tire with one of these! Without a doubt, the quickest and easiest way to get back on track is with a CO2 inflator.
