Description
BCAAs perform a variety of functions within the body. For example, supply of energy to the muscle in a situation of intense exercise, improvement of protein synthesis and anti-catabolic effect.
The branched chain amino acids (leucine, valine and isoleucine), namely the famous BCAAs, are metabolized directly in the muscle, unlike other amino acids which (usually) are metabolized in the liver.
