The all-new Tech 4 X2 draws on our more than 25 years of experience in designing and manufacturing hydraulic braking systems. The Tech 4 features an all-new internal seal to reduce friction, and the pivot rotates on roller bearings, which helps reduce spring stiffness. The lower spring rate, in turn, provides lighter lever action, reducing rider fatigue while maintaining our legendary feel and modulation. Combine this with an updated X2 Postmount or Flatmount caliper for the best XC brake in its class.

Technical Specifications:

• 30% increase in pressure compared to the Tech 3 brake
• Articulated caliper design to reduce weight and an enlarged reservoir surface to reduce overall stack height.
• Gear lever integration has been improved and now offers a 30° angle adjustment, as well as a sleeker package and compatibility with the latest gear levers. Lateral adjustment on both sides of the master cylinder is also possible to offer a wide range of lever position options.
• The Tech 4 retains the tool-free bite point and reach adjustments of the Tech 3
• All Tech 4 brakes come with new brake pads

• Master cylinder and caliper machined from a solid block of 2014 T6 aluminum.
• Low-friction master cylinder piston.

• X2 caliper to Post-Mount standard, 74.2 mm center distance.

Flatmount caliper mounting options:

• Mount Z: Required to mount the X2 FM caliper on a standard front Flatmount and use a 160mm disc - The standard front Flatmount is typically found on road/gravel/CX forks
• Y Mount: Required to mount the X2 FM caliper on the standard rear Flatmount using a 160mm disc - Standard rear Flatmount is typically found on the rear of certain road/gravel/CX frames, but also recently on lightweight XC frames
• The caliper will also fit directly onto the standard rear Flatmount using a 140mm disc.

Note: The X2 Flatmount caliper is designed for use only with Hope Tech 4, Tech 3, XCR Pro, and Tech/Tech Evo levers.
